Import from Google Docs

To import from Google Docs, export or copy the content and paste it into Nexus.

Option 1: Paste directly

  1. Open your Google Doc and select all the content (Ctrl+A / Cmd+A).
  2. Copy it (Ctrl+C / Cmd+C).
  3. Open a new Nexus document and paste (Ctrl+V / Cmd+V).

Nexus will try to preserve headings, lists, bold, italic, and links from the clipboard. Complex formatting (tables, footnotes, images) may not transfer perfectly.

Option 2: Export as HTML

  1. In Google Docs, go to File → Download → Web page (.html, zipped).
  2. Unzip the file.
  3. Open the HTML file in a browser.
  4. Select all and copy the rendered content.
  5. Paste into a Nexus document.

This preserves more formatting, including tables and inline styles.

Option 3: Export as Markdown

Use a browser extension or Google Workspace add-on to export your Google Doc as Markdown, then paste the Markdown into the Nexus import dialog. See Import Markdown for details.
