Roles & permissions

Nexus has three workspace-level roles. Every member of a workspace has exactly one role.

Roles

Admin

Admins have full access to everything in the workspace:

  • Create, edit, and delete any node
  • Invite and remove members
  • Change member roles
  • Manage workspace settings
  • Delete the workspace

Editor

Editors can work freely with content but cannot manage the workspace itself:

  • Create, edit, and delete their own nodes
  • Edit documents they have access to
  • Leave comments on any document
  • Cannot change workspace settings or manage members

Viewer

Viewers have read-only access:

  • Read all documents in the workspace
  • Cannot edit content
  • Cannot leave comments
  • Cannot create new pages

Changing roles

Go to Settings → Members. Click the role badge next to any member's name to change it. Only Admins can change roles.

Removing members

In Settings → Members, click the three-dot menu next to a member and select Remove from workspace. Their content remains. Only Admins can remove members.
